NVvM Annual Meeting
Overview

The Annual Meeting is usually held in the fall. From time to time we organize a joint meeting with one of the neighboring Microscopy or related Societies. The annual General Assembly, where society matters are discussed, is usually part of the Annual Meeting.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND REGISTRATION

This year the Annual Meeting of the Netherlands Society for Microscopy (NVvM) will be held as a joint event with Dutch Meeting on Molecular and Cellular Biophysics at 3-4 October in NH Koningshof in Veldhoven.

Goal of this meeting is to bring together all groups that work on microscopy and molecular and cellular biophysics in The Netherlands.

The meeting consists of plenary sessions, with invited presentations by (inter)national speakers, and special oral and poster sessions.

• Monika Ritsch-Marte (University of Innsbruck, Austria)

• Paul van der Schoot (TU Eindhoven),
• Erik Danen (Univ. Leiden)

The meeting is organised by FOM, NWO Earth and Life Sciences, the Netherlands Society for Microscopy and the Society for Biophysics and Biomedical Technology

Abstract submission and selection
There will be four one-hour oral sessions on light and electron microscopy. If you would like your work to be considered for an oral presentation at one of these sessions, please submit your abstract through the website) and choose “Light and electron microscopy” as a theme. Please note that the deadline for submission of abstracts for oral presentation is June 15, 2011! The selection among the abstracts on light and electron microscopy submitted for oral presentation will be done by the NVvM board in consultation with the Biophysics Programme Committee.

Deadline for abstract submission for poster presentations is September 7, 2011.

All abstracts will be reproduced in the abstract book that will be available at the conference for all participants.

Please note that submission of an abstract does NOT imply registration for the conference!

Registration
The registration deadline is 7 September 2011. Registration after this deadline means that a room cannot be guaranteed anymore.

Participation, including hotel accommodation from 3 to 4 October 2011, is free of charge. However, if you fail to show up and you do not cancel your reservation in advance by contacting the conference secretariat, you will be charged for the costs (up to € 200 for two-day participation, staying in a single room).

Bus schedule
On Monday morning 3 October and Tuesday afternoon 4 October, a bus service is organized between Eindhoven Central Station and NH Koningshof. Detailed instructions about the bus service will be available medio September.
